Bride

Eddy and I always talked about getting married. It seemed like the natural thing to do. We already lived together and had a puppy. It seemed fitting! The ring that I wanted was really expensive so even though I knew Eddy wanted to propose, I didn't think we could ever afford it!

One day, Eddy asked me to take time off work. He said that he knew how badly I wanted to go to Monterey to the beach to relax, shop and hit the spa. Every time that we went to Monterey, I always stared at the InterContinental. So of course, my Christmas present from Eddy was a two night stay at the InterContinental in Monterey.

We were on our way to Monterey on the morning of Friday, January 2nd. Eddy started by taking me to the spa to get a massage and facial. We then went to check in at the hotel. The bellman said that we had the best room in the hotel.

Groom

Eddy let me open the door and I was amazed at the row of rose petals that let into the room. He told me to follow them, so I did. It led us through the living room where there was a bottle of my favorite wine and white chocolate covered strawberries and then into the bathroom and bedroom. There was a tub overlooking the ocean with rose petals in it and candles surrounding it. On the bed there was a heart of red rose petals and two roses. I was already crying because I thought that this was so amazing and sweet! Before I could say anything, Eddy asked me to go outside onto the balcony with him.

The balcony had a view looking over the ocean. The sun was starting to set on the water and it was a peaceful evening. I was taking in the scenery when Eddy started to get teary eyed. He told me all these amazing things about our lives together and how he couldn't imagine his life without me. Before I could comprehend what was going on, he got down on one knee and tearily asked me to marry him. I started bawling my eyes out while trying to say yes! Then I got my beautiful, dream ring.

This proposal was more than I could have ever imagined. This was better than a dream. I feel like the luckiest girl in the world!

Of course, it wouldn't be Eddy without then taking his jacket off, going back into the room and saying, "I'm glad that's over!" and putting his feet up.
